He hit the afterburners to win on the gap..
Round 5 of the Mayo cycling league turned into an epic.. strong winds,driving rain and 2 ascents of the windy gap proved to be a real hard day on the bike over 70k
Sean was on the attack from the first lap going ahead on the first ascent of the windy gap, keith Mulroy Westport Covey wheelers joined him and the 2 worked well together till the last ascent of the climb, behind Niall Mc Loughlin Covey and Jonathan Caulfield Castlebar looked to be pulling the 2 leaders in but ran out of road..
Seanie had to kick hard to beat Keith in the sprint.
Sean Barnicle had another great race finishing in the top 15.
Colin Loughney was unlucky when a mechanical put him on the back foot for most of the race..
Sara Canny put in another strong performance.
Well done to Castlebar CC for Organising a great race.. a good dress rehearsal for the Nationals on September 12&13th
