A sportive only for lady cyclists
Sunday September 27th is the date for this years end of season Ladies Sportive.
Western Lakes CC are organising a sportive (leisure cycle) for Ladies exclusively, its one of the few lady only events in the country and it promises to be an enjoyable experience for all participants.
Our chosen charity is Rock Rose House, Mayo Cancer Support Services, Castlebar. Our route is a scenic 64km around Lough Mask.
Cyclists will start in Ballinrobe, then pass Partry where they will head for Tourmakeady along the north shore of the lough. They then tackle the short climb of Ma'am Trasna, the top of which boasts stunning views of Lough Na Fooey and of the Partry and Maamturks mountains. After this, cyclists will have a well earned food stop at Finney(Larches pub) before heading back to Clonbur and then onto the finish in Ballinrobe.
Showers will be available afterwards at the Lakeside sports centre on the Kilmaine Road. Lunch will be provided after the event. The route will be fully marked and marshaled. Full back up will be provided.
Join in the fun and raise some funds for a great local cause. Cycling Ireland members can sign up online for 20 euro at www.cyclingireland.ie ( go to events booking, then checkout). Non cycling ireland members or anyone wishing to sign up on the day may do so.
Cost is €25. Entry includes marshaled route, back up, group leaders and refreshments on route with lunch after the event.
Registration is from 9-9.45am Sunday 27th September at the Cycling Centre on the Kilmaine Road, Ballinrobe, Co Mayo. The event starts at 10am.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!
