Scrap collection
The club is still collecting scrap metal, so any batteries, old farm machinery, cars, both ferrous and non ferrous please contact any club official and we will take them of your hands.
St Patrick day Parade.
The club will participate in this year's parade, the theme is The Gathering, the club runs many events so it fits right up our alley. Meet up the Neale rd at 3pm on Sunday March 17th, it will only take 30mins max and is good publicity for our club.
Membership/ Club Enrollment
To date I have 57 memberships fully processed and gone through the system with some more to be processed. We will hold a final registration evening on Thursday 14th February from 7-9 PM. To date I have only processed previous members, we don;t seem to have any new members coming on stream this year. If anyone knows of anyone out there willing to join Western Lakes send them our way. Following the above registration evening I will send off another batch of memberships to Cycling Ireland. The turn around for getting a license is at least two weeks as each individual application has to be processed and then approved by Cycling Ireland then I have to send off a list of member names in bulk. I do not send off licenses one by one as I get them as this would not make sense. So with the various leagues about to start requesting a license a day or two beforehand and expecting it to be gone through just isn't feasible. No License No Racing. Likewise for anyone applying for there license online through Cycling Ireland this is only the first step in the process. If you want to be attached to Western Lakes and avail of its benefits then I must approve the license before it fully goes through. I will not approve any licenses until I have received membership fees, i.e. the balance of that stated on the club application form - for example a Leisure License is €55, when going online you pay €25 you must then forward €30 to the club for the license to be fully approved.

Also I am currently working off the 2012 email list combined with a new one for 2013, over the next few weeks I will be changing over completely to the 2013 list of paid up members so if you have not joined the club this may be the last email you will receive regarding upcoming events etc.

Cycle against Suicide - http://www.cycleagainstsuicide.com/
This event is passing through Ballinrobe on Sunday the 28th April going from Galway to Castlebar, with a food stop penciled in for Ballinrobe. It would be good if a group could meet/escort them on the route and we could possibly put on a spread for them at the Cycling Centre. Great coverage for the club and its events as I believe 2FM are covering the event.
Connaught Spring Show
The club will be putting on a promotion/showcase/fundraiser at the above event on Sunday the 19th May. Help will be needed on the day if it is to be a success.
