Leisure Report

The evenings are bright and the weather is improving, its time to get the bike out and start cycling for your goals of a long Sportive, a Club Race or Mayo League Race.

There was a TT event on St Patrick's Day in Hollymount which had about 21 taking part. The event was won by John Gill of Hollymount and a valiant effort by John Conroy to come in second pace at 11 seconds down and Janis finishing in 3rd place.

There was a good selection of riders out last Sunday for the WLCC leisure spin,6 took part in the second group who did a lap of Lough Carra which 43km. The time is changing this weekend and the evening spins will start soon. Facebook page for time routes etc.

Race Reports

After the heroics of Ras Maigh Eo the last weekend, the racers had a quite weekend, apart from Patricia Harte who took part in the seven Springs GP in Loughrea with a excellent result of 2nd Lady home while also taking part in the A4 race. More to follow on this.

This week is the Ras Mumhan but Sean O Malley is injured and is not taken part this weekend. Cathal Usher is racing so best of luck to him.

The Mayo League times and dates are on the WLCC site.First event been a 16K time trial in Swinford. A great way to ease in to the league and take away any nerves.

Special mention to Eamonn Marrey who is having his offoial opening of Marrey Bikes on Good Friday 25th March with special Quest Stephan Roche.

Dan Martin is also going well in the Volta a Catalunga in Spain with a stage win and race leader.
