Well done to all who participated in the two lakes challenge cycle last Sunday for Tourmakeady Gaa The weather was organised by Noel Gibbons and he arranged for a block head wind and rain from Partry to the bottom of Mamtrasna (Thanks Noel).
A good few WLCC members braved the condition and it was a fast spin at the front, the race season must have started early, some were saying the boys in Spain would not be going at this rate. However the hills slowed the pack and spits formed along the route. A few punctures happened and a few brave souls tried in vain to fix them, so only for the WLCC team van and the Mask-Corrib Red Cross these, cyclist would be left stranded along the route, these should be commended for their time and effort for these events.
A great feed was organised back in Partry after the event.
WLCC wish to thank the organisers and marshals etc. for great event.
There was great support from Western Lakes Cycling Club, Castlebar Cycling Club, Covey Wheelers Westport Cycling Club, Islandeady Cycling Group, Achill Wheelers Cycling Club, Hollymount Wheelers Cycling Group
There will be pictures of the sodding people on Facebook in due course.
