Club League for all members
Western Lakes Cycling League & Club Championship
Objective
The objective of this league is to offer ALL members the opportunity to try out racing in a controlled environment. The league will cater for all abilities in the club by assigning cyclists to appropriate groups. The handicaps will allow each group to compete against stronger groups by working together to stay away for as long as possible. For cyclists who mainly take part in leisure events and inter club leagues and who would like to participate in a local club race, this is the ideal format for you. You can pitt your skills against the more experienced racers by gaining advantage of a generous handicap system. You will be able to improve your bike handling skills and practice cycling in a group at a faster pace than your normal leisure spins.
League & Championship Format
Three handicapped road races over three different locations which reflects the make-up of the club membership. There will be a league round held in Hollymount, Partry and Kilmaine with the Club Championship held in Ballinrobe.
The Club Championship will take place at the end of the league. There will be prizes for each category in the Championship. The categories will be based on the results of the league races.
