Marrey Bikes.com sponsor Ballinrobe 2day for the fifth time.
With only 2 weeks to go before the start of the Marreybikes.com Ballinrobe 2day (August 10th & 11th). The race, now in its eighth year, has gone from strength to strength with 120 participants taken part last year.
This event is Ireland’s only Handicapped stage race, allowing every participant a fair chance of success..
Colm Cassidy UCD made it 2 wins in a row last year with the aid of a strong UCD squad, Colm has since emigrated to Canada, where he is working and still racing his bike.
The race for the 5th year in succession will be sponsored by Marrey Bikes of Ballinrobe
This 2 day event is open to the following categories A1,A2,A3 Juniors and Ladies.
Sign On Saturday August 10th from 12noon at the cycling centre, Kilmaine Rd Ballinrobe race assembles 2.40pm.
The race starts on Saturday the 10th of August at 3pm with an 80k hilly road stage that includes the hors category climb of Lally’s mountain. To add a bit of spice to the stage Inch's bar Main St Ballinrobe will sponsor €50 to the most aggressive A3 rider on that stage.
Sunday there are 2 stages, stage 2a is a 7k Time Trial from Kilmaine to Ballinrobe starting at 9am.
Stage 2b sign on from 12noon, race starts at 1pm with 104k road stage using a 13k lap to be completed 8 times passing through the town centre, so plenty of local excitement.
On laps 1, 3 and 5 through the finish line, Inch's bar will sponsor a prime for the winner on those laps.

This stage race has all the frills with jerseys, Yellow (Overall) Green (Sprints) and Polkadot (Mountains) plus 4 perpetual trophies and cups for stage and overall winners, we try and cater for every category with €2000 in prizes. Champions systems UK sponsor the race jerseys for the various competitions.
Race prize giving and BBQ at Inch’s bar on Sunday from 5pm.

Sign on from 12noon at the cycling centre , Kilmaine Rd Ballinrobe, race start 1.10pm
Ballinrobe Horse races are on Monday the 12th so why not make a weekend of it and throw some of the winning on a few horses.
