Left the hotel this morning at 7.58am led out by the legendary Jim Tuohy. Weather was beautiful with blue skies and not a drop of rain all day. However, heavy cross winds kept the pace steady throughout. Backed up expertly by Jimmy Durkan and Ray McHugh, we hit the food stop at 12.55pm. Shane Gilligan attacked 20k from the finish. We let him dangle in the wind for twenty minutes before we easily reeled him in. Arrived at the hotel at 5.25pm in Limerick. Everyone made it safe and sound and are in great spirits after getting over the first and hardest day. All tucking in to dinner and maybe a drink or two!
