Tourmakeady Festival race

On Wednesday July 25th cycle racing will make a reappearnce in the village of Tourmakeady,  Its fourteen  years since there was a race held in this beautiful part of the World beside Lough Mask, that year Junior World champion Mark Scanlon from Sligo won, in this year’s Tour De France current race leader Bradley Wiggins team Sky was once a competitor that Mark used to put to the sword, shows how high the standard of racing was at the time..

This year’s event promises to be a cracker, with 5laps of 5mile hilly circuit followed by 3laps of 1.5miles for a total distance of 29.5miles, take into account the hills in the area and it will surely be a talented rider that wins.

Race sign on at Tourmakeady hall from 6pm with racing for A1,A2,A3,A4 and club racers starting at 7.30pm sharp. This race will be a handicap event.
