Marrey Bikes.com Ballinrobe 2 Day Open For Entries
With 8 weeks to go for the Marreybikes.com Ballinrobe 2day (August 6th & 7th), the race now in its sixth year and has gone from strength to strength.
In 2010 there were a few surprises, the two teams from across the water Liverpool century and St Helen’s squads helped livened things up, the biggest surprise was a novice from Mullingar the Lakeside Wheelers man Damien Shaw proved that he was not afraid to attack, each day he went up the road and in the time trials he proved that he could compete against the A1’s. In the end it was his strong team who helped him win the overall.
This event is one of Ireland’s only Handicapped stage race, allowing every participant a fair chance of success.

This 2 day event is open to all categories except A4’s
Ladies and juniors (U18) can be competitive against the A1’s riders as there is a handicap system in place on Stage 1 and stage 2b.
This stage race has all the frills with jerseys, Yellow (Overall) Green (Sprints) and Polkadot (Mountains) plus 4 perpetual trophies and cups for stage and overall winners, we try and cater for every category with €2500 in prizes.
Ballinrobe town will also be holding a festival around the race, so expect the gorgeous constantan’s of the Queen’s of the Mask to be on show, the Ballinrobe Horse races are on the Monday the 8th so why not make a weekend of it and throw some of the winning on a few horses.
The race starts on Saturday the 6th of August at 3pm with an 80k hilly road stage.
Sunday there are 2 stages, stage 2a is an 7k TT, 9am start, Stage 2b starts at 1pm with 85k road stage.
